What kind of storage ottoman should I get?
I am wanting to replace my coffee table with a storage ottoman because I need the storage and have a small daughter who keeps whacking her head on the sharp corners of our current table. I have a couch with a stone-colored slipcover and two large dark brown leather armchairs. What color ottoman should I get, and should I go with fabric or leather? Most of the ones I see are dark brown leather, but I already have two dark brown leather chairs. That might be overkill. I don't know. What do you think?

Toy storage question - what do you use?
We are being over run with toys and running out of spots to keep them so they can be put away in the evenings. Regular toy boxes all seem to small and leave no options for the larger push/ride on toys. What has worked for you? Pantry? A second entertainment unit? Storage ottomans? I'm trying to stay away from giant plastic totes since this is going in my living room so I want something kind of nice but not extremely pricey. Ideas please! There's not much to get rid of as he does play with most everything we have, plus we have both younger and older kids over frequently so I also have toys for them. Not to mention all of the big peoples toys (xbox, guitar hero, laptops, my fancy cleaning tools as hubby calls them, etc..). We have a small closet in the living room already full! Space behind the couch is used up. I've got stuff coming out my ears and have moved outside what I can already! I still have to find a permanent home for our fishtank. We've just moved to a mirror image layout of the semi we were in before yet the cupboards and storage layout is not quite the same. He's too young and his room is too small to put a play area up there. I just need to figure something out until we get the basement cleared out of boxes and then we will have a play room down there as well. Man, I never realized how much space you need with kids, now I know why my parents bought such a big house after I was born LOL
The push/ride toys belong outside for me. I basically made the rule: anything with wheels go outside. What i did was go to Wal-Mart and buy ... See More

How do you turn a regular ottoman into a storage ottoman?
I have a 3x3x1.5' ottoman and I am looking to turn it into a storage ottoman. I was thinking of simply cutting below the cushion and stapling a piece of plywood to the bottom of the cushion and then using the hollow part inside of the ottoman (below the cushion) as storage. If i Place a piece of plywood on the bottom of the ottoman as well then i should be able to store anything inside. The only problems i see are hinging the top cushion to the bottom half of the ottoman and the fact that i would need some way to support the cushion and make it so people could still sit down on it. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
I think I would forget the hinge, and attach a 1x2 around the four sides of the bottom of the ottoman cushion {in a square}, so it {the ... See More

A Storage Ottoman Like This -- Picture Included?
I was looking for a storage ottoman/cube for awhile now. Actually I was thinking of two...next to each other in front of bed. I saw one on Pbteen http://www.pbteen.com/products/storage-cube/?lineid=7&cm_src=SCH and I loved it! I was thinking of something that is blue, green, or white because those are the colors in my room. I would like something that is relatively small... So I know I asked a lot here but really if you have anything in mind that is basically what I asked for up there then that would be great. Thanks soooo soo much!!!

Can a black couch and espresso ottoman be used in the same room?
Looking at new furniture for the living room. The couch I want is black leather (the light brown option is hideous). However the storage ottoman and matching stool set only comes in espresso. Customer reviews say the ottoman set is so dark brown it is almost brown. Would the black and espresso clash? Or blend nicely? We do already have both black and espresso pieces in the room, and it seems to flow together well enough. Our accent color for the room is bright red. Going for a contemporary/modern look.
How about you get throw cushions the same colour as the ottoman and put them on the black couch to make a contrast? A fabric match might be ... See More
